About ARPA Tasmania

ARPA TAS, the Tasmanian branch of the Australian Rehabilitation Providers Association (ARPA), works in alliance with the TAVRP (Tasmanian Association of Vocational Rehabilitation Providers) to represent the interests of the Occupational Rehabilitation (OR) industry in this State. It was incorporated in 2008 when it became a member of ARPA National.

Its membership consists of OR provider companies and individuals, working within compensation schemes including State-based Workers Compensation Insurers, Comcare and the Motor Accidents Insurance Board (along with other compensation schemes including Military Compensation, Defence, Income Protection and non-compensable injuries). Membership includes small, medium and large sized OR providers that are private and Government entities.

ARPA TAS aims to be recognised as the OR industry body by Workcover TAS and other compensation authorities, and has representatives involved with the development of the Injury Management Model.

ARPA TAS aims to achieve significant outcomes for its members through its ongoing involvement in negotiations and discussions with relevant compensable and Government bodies, as well as with key stakeholder groups.

ARPA TAS and its members believe that appropriate rehabilitation intervention is key to the achievement of cost effective and durable return to work outcomes for injured individuals, whether this is with the pre-injury employer or a new employer.
